Ready to feel confident in the gym but not sure where to start? “Strong Start” is the perfect entry point for anyone new to working out or feeling unsure about using gym equipment. This six-class small-group training program is designed to take the intimidation out of the gym and replace it with knowledge, support, and confidence. Once a week, you’ll meet with our certified personal trainer, Stephani Hop, in a small group of 3–6 people for a focused, hands-on training session where you’ll learn proper form and technique, how to safely use common gym equipment and weights, easy-to-follow strength workouts you can repeat on your own, and how to build a balanced fitness routine. Over the course of the program you will receive upper-body, lower-body, full-body, and core workouts — giving you a well-rounded introduction to resistance training. Between sessions, you’ll also have access to the Zeeland Recreation gym to practice what you’ve learned at your own pace using workouts provided by our coach. Whether you’re brand-new to the gym or just looking for more guidance, “Strong Start” will give you the tools, support, and confidence to make fitness a lasting part of your life.
