Zeeland Recreation is proud to offer FREE program opportunities to children experiencing financial need through our Kids Leisure, Aquatics & Sports Scholarship (K.L.A.S.S.) program.

K.L.A.S.S. ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR FREE PROGRAMS?

To qualify for K.L.A.S.S., your child must:

how many free programs do you receive?

  • Children who qualify for Free Meals receive 2 free programs of their choice per year (July 1–June 30).
  • Children who qualify for Reduced-Price Meals receive 1 free program of their choice per year (July 1–June 30).

Zeeland Public School Students

  • Apply for the ZPS Free & Reduced Meal Program
  • Complete the Information Sharing Form to allow ZPS Food Services to share your eligibility with Zeeland Recreation. Email the completed form to foodservice@zps.org or drop it off at Zeeland East HS Food Services
  • Wait 1-2 weeks for your approval to be added to Zeeland Recreation's confidential eligiblity list
  • Call (616) 748-3230 or visit Zeeland Recreation to register for your free program(s). Online registration is not available for K.L.A.S.S.

Non-ZPS Students OR Children Not Yet School-Aged

  • Complete the K.L.A.S.S. Application Form
  • Allow 5-7 days for your application to be processed
  • Once approved, call (616) 748-3230 or visit Zeeland Recreation to register for your free program(s). Online registration is not available for K.L.A.S.S.

HOW TO REGISTER 

Once approved, register for your free program(s) by calling (616) 748-3230 or visiting our office and mentioning K.L.A.S.S. We will verify your eligibility at registration.

Your K.L.A.S.S. benefits and application reset each year on July 1.

Please note: K.L.A.S.S. eligibility does not guarantee a spot in a program or allow registration after a deadline has passed. Families are responsible for completing the application and receiving approval before registration deadlines or programs fill.
