Little Ninjas is the perfect outlet for active little ones, and a great way for parents to connect and build community! This program blends fun gymnastics-inspired movement with exciting obstacle-course challenges that help kids burn energy, build coordination, and explore their growing independence. Each class invites children to jump, climb, balance, and tumble their way through playful stations while parents cheer them on and join in the fun. The shared activities create natural moments for parents to meet, socialize, and support one another, turning the class into a welcoming community space as much as a movement program. With its upbeat atmosphere, creative challenges, and family-friendly focus, Little Ninjas offers both a joyful workout for kids and a chance for parents to connect, unwind, and build lasting relationships!

6-42 Month Olds

Introduce your little one to the water in a safe, playful environment! Children will learn to feel comfortable in the water through songs, games, and gentle movement, learn to blow bubbles, submerge their face, and practice basic kicking and arm movements, all while gaining confidence and interacting more independently with instructors. 

Note on 3 Year Olds: While Preschool Lessons begin at age 3, Parent-Child Lessons are often the best fit for children who are new to swimming or still building comfort and confidence in the water. This supportive, in-water experience allows children to learn alongside a parent while developing foundational skills.

For children ready to explore swimming on their own! In this class, children learn to enter and exit the water safely and confidently, submerge their face, blow bubbles, and float independently. They will practice gliding on their front and back, kicking with support, arm movements, swim short distances and explore early freestyle patterns through fun drills.

Kick off fall by showcasing the Zeeland Rec Dance program in the exciting Pumpkinfest Parade! Little dancers aged 3–5 will ride on the festive dance float, while the 6–18 age group marches alongside the Zeeland Youth Dance Company through downtown Zeeland. The parade steps off at 3:00 PM. All current dance students are welcome to participate, and we'll provide your shirts—just bring your enthusiasm! Discover the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife! Once the sun sets, a whole new group of animals comes to life. Join the Outdoor Discovery Center (ODC) Network to learn how nighttime creatures use unique adaptations to hunt, survive, and avoid predators. This interactive program features live reptiles, amphibians, and birds, along with taxidermy specimens and other animal artifacts, giving participants an up-close look at the amazing animals that thrive after dark. All ages are welcome, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Mini Sessions are the perfect opportunity for dancers to explore new styles, build confidence, and have fun in a flexible, low-commitment setting. Each class features a different dance genre, giving dancers the chance to expand their training while discovering new favorites. Classes are offered for elementary, middle school, and high school dancers and rotate through a variety of styles, including Jazz, Modern, Tap, Pom, Contemporary, Ballet, and Jazz Funk. Additionally, 3-5 year olds will enjoy themed classes inspired by favorites like Barbie, Princesses, and other exciting adventures, combining creativity, imagination, and movement in every class. Families can choose the registration option that best fits their schedule—register for individual classes as you go, or purchase the Mini Sessions Unlimited Package and attend as many classes as you'd like for one affordable price. Whether you're trying dance for the first time or looking to broaden your training, The Mini Sessions offer something new to experience every week!

Discover the beauty of winter on a family snowshoe adventure! Join a Naturalist from the Outdoor Discovery Center (ODC) Network as you explore the trails of Paw Paw Park, search for animal tracks, and learn about the plants and wildlife that call winter home. Traditional wooden, Ojibwa-style snowshoes are provided for participants ages 8 and older. You're also welcome to bring your own snowshoes, and families with younger children are encouraged to bring a sled for little ones. If there isn't at least 4 inches of snow, we'll still enjoy a guided winter nature walk. This free program is open to all ages, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is required, as space is limited.

Join us to create magical memories together at our Fairytale Parent & Child Prom - an enchanting evening designed for caregivers and children to share a night full of dancing, activities, and unforgettable moments inspired by beloved fairytales. Dressed in your royal best, you’ll step into a storybook setting where imagination comes to life and every moment feels like a dream come true!

Formerly known as Daddy-Daughter Prom, this event has been renamed Parent–Child Prom to celebrate all caregiver-child relationships. All are welcome, regardless of gender.

Join the Zeeland Dance Company for a Spring themed day of fun! Participants will learn dance techniques, dance routines, play movement games, and do a dance related craft! That same evening, dancers are invited back to perform at 6pm in our “Uplifted” Dance Concert, hosted by our Zeeland Youth Dance Company! All proceeds from “Uplifted” go towards our K.L.A.S.S. program, which provides free Zeeland Rec programs to children who are in financial need. No experience required. Participants must be potty trained and 3 years old as of December 1.
