ugly sourdough - it doesn't have to be pretty to taste good

16 Yr Olds-Adults

Think sourdough needs to be picture‑perfect, crusty, and Instagram‑ready to taste amazing? Think again! In this beginner‑friendly class we leave perfection behind and embrace the beautifully imperfect world of Ugly Sourdough. Using a simple two‑loaf pan method, you’ll learn to bake real sourdough easily. Whether you’re brand new or you’ve tried and stumbled before, this class is for you: we’ll guide you step by step through mixing, folding, fermenting, and baking—with practical tips to make the process feel doable instead of intimidating. By the end you’ll go home with a jar of active sourdough starter to keep the magic going, dough already shaped in loaf pans (pans provided) and ready for overnight cold fermentation (so you can bake when you’re ready within a day or two), a printed guide full of timelines and techniques to build your confidence, and the know‑how — and excitement — to bake your own “ugly” but delicious sourdough your way.

ugly sourdough - what the focaccia?!

16 Yr Olds-Adults

Think sourdough stops at ugly loaves? Think again! In this hands-on class, we’ll take Ugly Sourdough to the next level by exploring inclusions, bubbly focaccia, and tender sourdough scones. You’ll learn how to add flavor, texture, and creativity to your baking without losing the relaxed, “ugly is beautiful” vibe. Whether you took part in a previous sourdough class or already bake at home, this class helps you level up with confidence and ease. Together, we’ll fold inclusions into loaves, bake a pan of herb- and olive-oil-kissed focaccia right in class, and make a batch of buttery sourdough scones - from start to freezer. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for inclusive loaves, simple techniques to keep baking fun (and beautifully ugly), delicious focaccia and scones to enjoy later, and a printed recipe and ideas guide to keep experimenting at home. Because once you’ve mastered the basics… it’s time to ask: What the Focaccia?!
