12 Yr Olds-Adults

If you love the benefits of cross training and enjoy a challenge, this one's for you! Choose between one of the four triathlon distance options below and then complete those distances in small chunks between March 2-28 (you can complete those distances at Zeeland Recreation or elsewhere). Challengers will receive a mileage log and may begin logging their mileage on March 2nd. Those who complete their mileage distances will be entered into a raffle for a one month Ultimate Membership ($50 value) OR a $50 gift card to a store of your choice! Registration includes a t-shirt. 

Distances: 

  • Ironman: 26.2-mi run/walk, 112-mi bike, 2.4-mi swi
  • Olympic: 6.2-mi run/walk, 24-mi bike, 1-mi swi
  • Sprint: 3.1-mi run/walk, 13.2-mi bike, 1/2-mi swi
  • Team Relay: Register as a team of 2 or 3 members max and complete the challenge of your choice

100 Mile Swim Club

8 Yr Olds-Adults

Looking to stay fit and have fun? Join the Zeeland Recreation 100‑Mile Swim Club! Swim 100 miles in 12 months and track your progress with our new digital system or grab a manual sheet right on the pool deck. Whether you're a dedicated lap swimmer or an in-season competitor looking to rack up extra yardage, this is a great way to stay motivated, challenge yourself, and earn some serious bragging rights. All swim strokes count, and miles from open water swims or other pools can be logged too! Monthly standings will be posted to keep the energy high, and anyone who hits the 100-mile goal will score a premium water bottle and an exclusive 100‑Mile Swim Club decal. Start anytime.   • When Can I Start? Any time of year! Simply stop in our fitness center to get started! 
  • Location: Zeeland Recreation Pools
  • Distance Guidelines: 
    • 100 miles = 165,000 yards or 3,300 laps
    • 1 mile + 1,650 yards, 66 lengths or 33 laps
    • Length = One end of the pool to the other end (25 yards)
    • Lap = Down and back (50 yards)
    • 2 miles a week = 100 miles in 50 weeks
    • 3 miles a week = 100 miles in 33 weeks
    • 1 mile a day x 5 days a week = 100 miles in 20 weeks
