Listed below are scholarship opportunities that the Counseling Office is made aware of.  There are many more scholarships out there – they just require some extra work to seek them out.  Students are encouraged to visit and to research two of the largest, most reputable, and free online scholarship search engines.  Please do not ever pay a fee to apply for a scholarship.  The legitimate ones are completely free.

Michigan Association of State and Federal Program Specialists Scholarship MASFPS will award three state scholarships to eligible high school seniors.



up to $2500 1/6/20
National Association of Legal Professionals of West Michigan Scholarship This scholarship is available to high school seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA who have financial need, and plan to enroll in a Michigan post-secondary institution in the legal field Application $1000 1/15/20
John F. Kennedy Profiles in Courage Essay Contest Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917, the year of JFK's birth. up to $10,000 1/17/20
Holland Optimist Club Essay Contest Open to any student under the age of 19, this contest requires applicants to respond to a specific topic. Application up to $2500 1/31/20
Ryan Fischer Legacy Award Available to seniors who have lettered in at least 2 varsity sports, one of which is hockey.  Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA and planning to attend college. $3500 1/31/20
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Applicants must be a graduating, minority HS senior who plans to attend a 4 year institution in the US, shows leadership potential and a dedication to community service.  Applicants must have a minimum 1000 SAT score and demonstrate financial need up to $30,000 2/1/20
Deputy David Steenwyk and Deputy Matt Chattfield Memorial Scholarship Open to Ottawa Co. high school seniros accepted into 2 or 4 year college/university and planning to major in criminal justice. Application $4000 3/15/20
Credit Union ONE William G. Coyne Memorial Scholarship Applicants must be seniors whose family is a member in good standing at a Credit Union ONE and has at least a 3.0 GPA and 30 hours of community service Application   4/1/20
