|American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program||
Junior girls: Are you interested in spending June 18-24, 2023 with approximately 350 of the best and brightest female students from the State of Michigan who have just completed their junior year? Applications are being accepted for the 2023 Michigan Girls’ State program. This program provides hands-on experiences in city, county, and state government. Girls State delegates will participate in a variety of activities exploring all levels of government during their week at Michigan State University. Check out the website: www.michalaux.org , click on Girls State and then on video for a summary of the program. Pick up your application in the East or West Counseling Offices. Completed applications and a copy of your transcript are due in the counseling office by 9am Friday, March 17, 2023. Girls’ State delegates will be notified on or before Friday, March 24, 2023. The fees for this program are paid by the sponsoring organization, Gilbert D. Karsten Unit #33 Legion Auxiliary. There will be a $25 MSU registration fee which is the responsibility of the participants.
|Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Program "Student Trooper"||
This is a rigorous week-long (June 11-16) program where Michigan State Troopers and law enforcement officers from around the state show students what life is like on the job.
Any Michigan HS student who is 16-18 years old and entering 10th-12th grades who can handle strict discipline, has at least a 2.5, and has no juvenile or criminal record, and has an interest in the criminal justice field can apply.

|Michigan American Legion Boys State||This is a unique week-long (June 18-24) summertime educational program that focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governing bodies and elected public officials. It is designed to mirror the structure and operation of its respective state government. The program is open to males who have will successfully complete their junior of high school in the spring of 2023 who have not previously attended. Boys with outstanding qualities of leadership and character will be considered. Attendees will have the opportunity for scholarship money as well.
