--The boys swimming and diving team won last night with a score of 66 to 75 against East Kentwood. Great swims by Kobi Crum, Noah Hambright, Owen Streeter, Will Posthumus, and Connell Pierson.

--Looking for a new sport? Interested in trying something different? Girls Lacrosse Club is looking for new and experienced players! Contact Coach Jessica at jlsellar@gmail.com by March 6th if you are interested in trying lacrosse or signing up for the spring season!

--The middle school dance student choreography showcase is on Monday February 25th at 7pm.  The show will be at Lokers Auditorium (Cityside Middle School).  There are no tickets for this concert.  However, this is our scholarship fundraiser for Zeeland's performing arts program.  A suggested donation of $2 per person is appreciated.  We will pass the hat at the end of the concert to collect the donations.  Please come and support the middle school dancers.  It's going to be a great show! 

--Blender 2019 has been rescheduled for Friday, March 22 from 7:00-9:30 pm.  If you purchased a ticket, you're good to go.  Need a ticket?  Stop by the CBC room with your sign up form & $15.00.  More information will be emailed home regarding parent volunteers and donations.

--Spring is coming and so is the Chix Mix!  It's time to start getting your acts together for our annual talent show.  The Chix Mix audition dates will be Wednesday March 13th and Thursday March 14th.  Auditions will begin at 2:45pm and will end around 4pm. You may sign up for a time slot beginning the week of March 4th.  Sign ups will be outside of Mrs. Landes's classroom during that week.  You only need to come to one day of auditions.  Please see Mrs. Landes with any questions.  Good luck practicing!  I can't wait to see all of your acts!

--The EDGE program for this summer is planned and the sign up sheet is attached. This program has been a vital part of our success for 11 years. We are planing some exciting investments into speed and strength training for this spring and summer. We continue to develop our program to be a national model. Excited for year 12 of EDGE - it is an incredible program for multi-sport athletes.   If you are unable to print this out, and in the Middle School Office.  Please fill out and turn in with payment to Pat in the ZEHS AD Office.  If you know of any incoming 6th grade athletes, please share with them as well.

--Parent education workshop: on Vaping and Marijuana and share with anyone who may be interested in attending. It is March 18th from 6-7:30pm at the Herrick District Library.

----Calling all equestrians: it’s show time! That’s right, it’s time to start thinking about show season for the Cityside Equestrian Team season! An Introductory meeting for new and returning members will be held at DeWinds Arena on February 21. Riders MUST own or lease their horse AND have a way of transporting their horse. Need more information? Grab a brown flier taped up or see Miss Cordes in room 112 with any questions.

--Zeeland High School Dance Program information for new students 2019-2020.  Eighth graders the information about the Zeeland High School Dance Program audition and enrollment process?  Detailed information can be found on the dance webpage at this link: https://sites.google.com/zps.org/zeelanddance/auditions.  Applications are due April 22 at 10am.  Auditions are April 25.  Workshops prior to auditions are April 17, 18 & 24.

----8th grade students:  ZHS will again be offering 9th grade PE/Health in the summer for students who desire to fulfill part of the PE graduation requirement in advance of high school.  This is a semester course taken over a 3 week period at a cost of $150.  Students who successfully complete it earn a half credit for 9th grade PE/Health.  Registration is limited to 60 participants and is first come, first served, with a final application deadline of April 26.   Registration form.

--8th graders/parents:  If you were unable to attend the high school information meeting on February 4, information/resources are available.  There is a wealth of great information about the transition to high school so please check it out!  

--Any message needing to get to a student must be received by 1:15pm. We call students down at the beginning of their 6th during announcement so we are not disturbing classroom instruction time.

–If your child will not be in school you MUST call the attendance line at 748-3205. Reminder – if your child will be out of school, you may email their teachers, but you also need to call the attendance line or office. Thanks!

—SPORT SIGN-UPS:  All signups will be done online in the Final Forms www.zeeland-mi.finalforms.com. Parents and students need to register once a year for all your sports you will be playing or think you might want to play. Please check your mail/spam mail for confirmation once you have originally signed into Final Forms to confirm your account.  You can also link Final Forms through the cityside.zps.org website under athletics, or you may pick up a hard copy of the Final Forms instructions by the CBC room or in the office at Cityside. Like in the past we need a current 2018-2019 physical dated from the doctor after April 15 of current year to be eligible for all sports. Thank you

--"Despite a hard fought meet, the Zeeland wrestlers were narrowly defeated by Hamilton last night. Congratulations to Devin Steggerda, Logan Klunder, Micah Palmbos and J.J. Salas on getting pins last night."
