--8th grade boys interested in playing freshman basketball next year - please sign up outside the CBC room.

--There are still a few spots for golf Club. Sign up outside Shack.
Permission slip outside of CBC is required. We golf after school on
Tuesdays and we are golfing tomorrow.

--Orphan Train Ticket Sales - tickets go on sale TODAY for the CMS Players presentation of Orphan Train.  Tickets can be purchased in the Cityside Office, $6 students, seniors and staff, $8 adults.  Don't miss out!

--East Entrance (Pool/Auditorium) Information: Today and Tomorrow, there will be new exterior doors being installed down between the pools and auditorium.  This entrance will be off limits during installation.  No one will be allowed to use this entrance.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

--Davenport Math Camp is being offered for students entering grades 6-9.  July 15-18 at the GR and Holland Campuses.

--6th and 7th grade Students: Interested in being a ZLink next year? A Link is a mentor that works with students with disabilities.   7th graders and 8th graders are paired in a DEAR class with their Link, and also may be in gen ed classes with their Link.  Applications are in the office if you are interested and are due back to the office by May 17th. *Current 7th graders that want to take the ZLinks class MUST be accepted as a Link in order to be in the ZLinks class.  See Mrs. Huizenga if you have questions.

--Attention boys middle school soccer players! Just a reminder to turn in your summer soccer forms! Next fall's 7th and 8th graders you can participate in TWO camps. ZEST and the ZEBS Team Camp. Grab an informational flyer ASAP.

For players entering high school next fall make sure you grab the entire ZEBS Summer Soccer Packet. There are a few different training options for high school athletes.  All information can be found outside the CBC room.

--Students currently in 6th and 7th grade: You can attend a FREE STEM summer camp at GVSU this summer.  Please visit the following site:  www.gvsu.edu/rmsc/energy  for more information.

--Suicide-- The Ripple Effect.  This life saving movie is the story of survivor and mental health advocate Kevin Hines.  This remarkable film will be shown Thursday April 25 at 7:00 pm in DeWitt Auditorium.

--We are thrilled to bring back the ZEF Golden Apple Awards this year.  We granted over 100 awards to our amazing teachers last year.  We'd love to honor even more in 2019!  The Zeeland Education Foundation has been raising private funds for ZPS for almost 15 years and there are still so many parents, businesses and community members that don't know who we are and what we provide for our ZPS students.  We'd be so thankful for your help in creating continued awareness. See attached flyer.

--GRASP - A summer reading and math program that seeks to help students retain skills they learned during this past school year.  Enrollment form and Information if this is something you would like your student to participate in.  Costs are listed on the enrollment form.

--Zeeland High School Dance Program information for new students 2019-2020.  Eighth graders the information about the Zeeland High School Dance Program audition and enrollment process?  Detailed information can be found on the dance webpage at this link: https://sites.google.com/zps.org/zeelanddance/auditions.  Applications are due April 22 at 10am.  Auditions are April 25.  Workshops prior to auditions are April 17, 18 & 24.

--8th graders/parents:  If you were unable to attend the high school information meeting on February 4, information/resources are available at https://www.zps.org/schools/grades-6-12/zeeland-hs/incoming-freshmen-information/.  There is a wealth of great information about the transition to high school so please check it out!  

--Any message needing to get to a student must be received by 1:15pm. We call students down at the beginning of their 6th during announcement so we are not disturbing classroom instruction time.

–If your child will not be in school you MUST call the attendance line at 748-3205. Reminder – if your child will be out of school, you may email their teachers, but you also need to call the attendance line or office. Thanks!

—SPORT SIGN-UPS:  All signups will be done online in the Final Forms www.zeeland-mi.finalforms.com. Parents and students need to register once a year for all your sports you will be playing or think you might want to play. Please check your mail/spam mail for confirmation once you have originally signed into Final Forms to confirm your account.  You can also link Final Forms through the cityside.zps.org website under athletics, or you may pick up a hard copy of the Final Forms instructions by the CBC room or in the office at Cityside. Like in the past we need a current 2018-2019 physical dated from the doctor after April 15 of current year to be eligible for all sports. Thank you

-- Cityside celebrates spring with the return of Golf Club. Golf Club is after school Tuesdays from 3:00 until 5:30. Each outing is limited to 12 golfers and the first 12 to sign up will be allowed to go.

Golfers must will be transported by van, and a permission slip for the season is required and can be picked up on Mrs. Maat’s table. Forms should be returned to Mr. Hann or Mr. Blacquire.

Golf Club is for 7th and 8th Grade

Our first outing is Tuesday, 4/23, and sign ups will begin Monday morning, 4/15. Signed permission slips are mandatory.
