Understanding Your Financial Aid Award Letter

Junior girls interested in learning more about local and state government during a week-long conference with other junior girls across the state, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, are encouraged to stop by the counseling office for more information!  The deadline to register is April 1 at 9:00 a.m. 

All 9th-11th grade students will be involved in state-required standardized testing in March/April.  Please read this letter to understand the testing schedule, what to bring, and the expectations for testing.

Seniors: Have you received financial aid award letters from the colleges that have accepted you but are uncertain how to interpret the information provided? Are you trying to determine how much money you will be spending out of pocket to attend college? Are you still discerning which college is the best financial "fit" for you? This "Counselor Connections" session is for you! Join our counseling office staff on Wednesday, March 18 during Advisory as we dive into the details of financial aid award letters. We will review the components of a financial aid package, discuss costs of college attendance, and answer specific questions that you may have! Please register HERE by Tuesday, March 17 at noon. 9th-11th Grade Students: You are invited to an admissions event for the United States Military Academy being held at the Herrick District Library on March 18 from 4-6 p.m. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about West Point, life as a Cadet, and their application process. Dual enrollment is the opportunity to take college classes directly through a State of Michigan college/university while still in high school. If you are a 9th-11th grade student wanting to learn more about dual enrollment as you plan your schedule for next year, join the counseling office staff during Advisory on Friday, February 20 for an overview of the dual enrollment process, eligibility requirements, pros/cons, and how it compares to taking AP classes. Please complete this form by Thursday, February 19 at noon.
