Zeeland Public Schools Spanish 4 and 5 students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in global cultures and languages at the Global Language and Culture Festival held at Grand Valley State University’s Allendale campus on Thursday, March 20.

The annual festival, hosted in the Grand River Room at the Kirkhof Center, celebrates the importance of language learning, intercultural understanding, and cultural humility in education and careers. Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of interactive activities, including cultural performances, international games, calligraphy, puppet shows, escape box challenges, a scavenger hunt, and more. They also explored academic programs, student organizations, and study abroad opportunities while enjoying food trucks and free language placement assessments.

The festival was an incredible experience for our students to see the real-world impact of learning another language and engaging with diverse cultures. Events like these inspire students to continue their language studies and broaden their global perspective.

Zeeland Public Schools is proud to provide students with opportunities to expand their understanding of the world and connect with cultures beyond their own.
