Celebrate healthy choices and the harvest season at a county-fair style food contest with a twist! Participants can enter original recipes in one of three categories: main dish, salad, and desert. Judges will score the dishes based on taste, nutritional value, overall appearance, and creativity. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will all receive an award and have their recipes published for the Zeeland Recreation community. Live out your Master Chef dreams while sharing your healthy recipes with the community!

- Date: Sat, Oct 21
- Time: 10am-12pm
- Location: Cityside Middle School - Aux Gym
- Rules/Regulations:
- Open to any individual amateur cook or baker
- Participants will be broken into two competition categories: Junior (6th-12th gr) and Adult (18 yrs+)
- Entire entry must be made from scratch. No pre-packaged ingredients may be used
- All ingredients and decorations must be edible
- The entire dish must be submitted for judging in a food safe disposable pan. (All pans, plates, and dishes are considered to be disposable and will not be returned.)
- The recipe for the dish must be submitted one week before the competition. The recipe must list the serving size, all the ingredients, quantities, and the preparation instructions as well as the dish’s protein, carbohydrates, fat, and caloric content per serving. This information can be determined by entering the recipe HERE
- Recipe and nutritional information must be submitted HERE
- Refrigeration and cooking sources are not available at the competition
- All food should come properly stored to maintain a safe eating temperature
- All food and recipes must be in place and set-up by 10am Zeeland Recreation will provide the table, tasting spoons, and signage with entrant’s name, recipe name, and nutritional information
- Entrant must be present at their booth to serve the judges and visitors for the entirety of the competition
- Judging Criteria and Tasting:
- Judging will take place from 10am-11am
- This is the judging score card
- Public tasting of the dishes is from 11am-12pm. There will be tasting spoons available at each stand. The cook/baker will serve one-bite servings until their food runs out
- Winners will be announced at 11:45am
