Policies for Recreation Programs

Below are our current policies for all Recreation programs. Keep in mind that policies may change as Govt/Health guidelines are fluid.

  1. Decisions on Programs: Will be released no later than the Thursday prior to the program
  2. Outdoor Programs: Events of 100 or less are allowed with social distancing (subject to change)
  3. Indoor Programs: Events of 10 or less are allowed with social distancing (subject to change)
  4. No-Touch Temperature Checks: Temperatures will be checked daily for each participant. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be sent home and won’t be allowed to participate for the remainder of the program for the safety of others (refunds provided)
  5. COVID-19 Symptom Checks: Participants will be asked two questions each day. Any participant who answers “yes” to either of these questions will be sent home and won't be allowed to participate for the remainder of the program for the safety of others (refunds will be issued) | A) Do you have any COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath)? B) Have you been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  6. 11 Yr Olds and Younger Must be Accompanied by Parent/Guardian Through Check-In Process
  7. Masks for Indoor Programs: All participants and their parents/guardians must wear masks throughout the check-in process for indoor programs. However, masks are not required after the check-in process
  8. Masks for Outdoor Programs: Masks are recommended for all participants and their parents/guardians throughout the check-in process for outdoor programs. However, masks are not required after check-in process
  9. Arrival Times: To reduce congestion and ensure the check-in process goes smoothly, all participants must stay in their vehicles until their designated arrival times, which will be communicated via email to each participant a few days before the program starts
  10. Hand Sanitizer: Participants must use hand sanitizer after the check-in process (provided by Rec Dept)
  11. Social Distancing: Our staff will be requiring 6’ social distancing throughout the entire program. This will lead to an increased focus on individual skill development rather than group/team concepts
  12. Disinfecting Policies: Coaches/Instructors will be disinfecting common spaces and shared equipment intermittently throughout a program and at the end of each session
  13. Shared Equipment: Equipment sharing will be minimized as much as possible. If participants have their own equipment, they’re encouraged to bring it to reduce use of shared equipment.
  14. Spectators: Spectators are allowed at outdoor programs, as long as they remain 6’ feet apart from others outside of their household. However, spectators are not allowed at indoor programs. *Exception: Spectators are not allowed at Zeeland Stadium
  15. Restrooms: Restrooms will be available if needed. However, we recommend using them as little as possible
  16. Water: Water cannot be provided. Please bring own water bottles
  17. Pick Up Protocol: Please pick up your child from the designated pick-up/exit area, which will be communicated via email to each participant a few days before the program starts. Please exit the area as quickly as possible after picking up your child to reduce congestion
