What is the cost of the bond proposal to a taxpayer?

  • The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $331, based on the 6.63 mills.
  • The district has levied 6.63 mills since 1999 in order to keep pace with continued growth.
  • The payment schedule for the proposed bond issue is 20 years, one year beyond the district's current schedule of 19 years.

Schools of Choice and its effect on the district

Summary of this Schools of Choice video:

  • Zeeland Public Schools currently has 600 Choice students, K-12
  • The district limits the Choice enrollment to 10 per cent of total enrollment. Exceptions are Innocademy and Summit School.
  • Choice students who do not maintain a good discipline or attendance record can be denied entry the following year.
  • Currently, more than 1,500 students who live IN our school district attend private schools or public schools outside our district.
