Academic core curriculum is reviewed and updated regularly
We make sure our youngsters are provided challenging lessons that are consistent across grade levels. A team of Zeeland educators meets regularly to handle this task during the school year.
The district has adapted its curriculum to meet new state requirements for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Our high schools have made the necessary requirements in the curriculum to meet new graduation requirements. These include four credits of English language arts; four credits of mathematics; and three credits of science. Instructional Technology is part of all curriculum rewrites and the district follows the Michigan Educational Technology Standards (METS).
Besides a rigorous curriculum our district has implemented Learner Goals for all our students. Learner Goals frame what we expect our students will have accomplished when they leave Zeeland Public Schools.
Our Curriculum Process allows Zeeland Public Schools the opportunity to regularly evaluate and revise our entire curriculum. We have established a Curriculum Cycle for that purpose.
If you have questions about our curriculum, please email Administrative Assistant Alice Chidester or call 616-748-3004.
