ZHS Players Present The Rememberer
In the early twentieth century, the Bureau of Indian Affairs sent agents out to Indian Reservations to apprehend children with the intent of wiping out whole cultures of Indian heritage, language and customs. Joyce Simmons Cheeka, a young Squaxin Indian girl, was forcibly taken from her family and sent to one such government boarding school. Come and share in her story as the Zeeland High Players stage a very meaningful show, The Rememberer, based on Cheeka’s true story on November 1, 2 & 3.
Shows are scheduled for November 1, 2 and 3 at 7pm at DeWitt Auditorium in Zeeland East High School. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens. The box office at DeWitt is open Monday through Friday 10:30am-2:30pm, and cash and check are accepted as payment. Tickets will also be available at the door starting at 6:15pm.
